The Yucaipa-Calimesa Joint Unified School District (YCJUSD) welcomed its newest board member, Regina Cruise, and re-elected incumbents Cathy Bogh and Debbie Miller on December 17th following the 2024 general election.
Member Cruise, who ran unopposed, brings a wealth of experience to the Board, having served as the Supervisor of Child Support Services for Riverside County. Her career aligns perfectly with YCJUSD's mission of "Making a Difference in the Life of Each Child."
The YCJUSD Board of Education consists of five elected members and one student representative. The current Board includes Cathy Bogh (Area 1), Regina Cruise (Area 2), Debbie Miller (Area 3), Sharon Bannister (Area 4), and Yucaipa High School Senior Joshua Breyer (Student Member). Trustee Area 5 is vacant as former Member Bob Miller recently accepted an appointment to the Yucaipa City Council. The Board has voted to conduct a provisional appointment for Trustee Area 5, and more information will be provided after the new year begins.
At its annual organizational meeting on December 17th, the Board elected Cathy Bogh as President and Debbie Miller as Clerk. The Board President leads board meetings, sets agendas, and serves as the Board's spokesperson. The Clerk provides administrative support to the Board and assumes the President's duties in their absence.
"We are excited to welcome Member Cruise to the Board and congratulate Members Bogh and Miller on their re-election," said Superintendent Cali Binks. "Their dedication and commitment to our students will be invaluable as we continue to strive for excellence in education.”
